Scott Benton MP

Scott was born in Newport in 1987 and spent most of his early life in West Yorkshire.

As an undergraduate he studied Theology at the University of Nottingham and remained at the university to study for a postgraduate degree, gaining a Masters in Theology.

His first career was as a Primary School Teacher where he focused on supporting under-privileged children. In 2011, Scott was elected to Calderdale Council for the Brighouse Ward.

He contested and won the Blackpool South parliamentary seat at the 2019 General Election. With a strong passion for aviation his campaign focused on the reopening of Blackpool Airport.
